Emergency Humanitarian Assistance to the flood affected community at Chakaria Upazila in Cox’s Bazar District

18th August, PHALS started It's Post-Flood Recovery Support program in Chakaria and Pekua upazila of Cox's Bazar District. Under the HOIFA Programme of the ToGETHER Project, the PHALS Response Team has initiated post-flood recovery support in Chakaria and Pekua Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar District, following a comprehensive 28-day needs assessment conducted in the flood-affected communities. As part of this initiative, 386 vulnerable flood-affected families will receive cash assistance of BDT 10,000 per family, while 514 of the most vulnerable families from Chiringa, Kakara, Barabakia, and Rajakhali Unions will receive in-kind assistance comprising 12 essential items.Total 900 family will get support. The support programme was formally inaugurated today by Mr. Shaheen Delwar, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Chakaria, in the presence of representatives from relevant government authorities and other key stakeholders. With the generous support of Malteser International, this initiative aims to assist the most vulnerable families in recovering from the impacts of the recent floods and rebuilding their lives with dignity, resilience, and hope. PHALS remains committed to delivering timely, needs-based, and locally led humanitarian assistance, and to standing alongside affected communities throughout the journey from emergency response to recovery and resilience.
