PHALS Officially Launched HOIFA Project in Cox’s Bazar.
PHALS officially commenced the HOIFA project titled “Emergency Humanitarian Assistance to the Flood Affected Communities at Pekua and Chakaria Upazilas in Cox’s Bazar District.” On 16th June 2026.
To mark the project launch, PHALS organized an orientation session for project staffs. The session provided a comprehensive overview of the project objectives, implementation strategy, staff roles and responsibilities, as well as key organizational policies and procedures. Induction sessions on Human Resources (HR), Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and financial management were also conducted to ensure effective project implementation. Special emphasis was placed on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) and Safeguarding aligning with PHALS’ commitment to safeguarding and accountability. Participants were oriented on the six core principles of PSEAH and discussed safeguarding measures to ensure the protection, dignity and well being of affected communities throughout project implementation. A total of seven HOIFA project staff participated in the orientation, including one Project Officer, two Field Facilitators and four Union Organizers (Volunteers). The session was inaugurated by the PHALS ToGETHER 2.0 Program Focal Person and facilitated by the Senior MEAL and Communication Officer and Senior HR Officer. In addition, the Finance and Accounts Officer briefed on financial management procedures and compliance requirements relevant to the HOIFA project.
The orientation concluded with a shared commitment from all staff members to uphold humanitarian principles, organizational policies and accountability standards while delivering timely and effective assistance to the affected communities.
