On 18 May, was a joyful and significant day for the PHALS team. The Soap Production Center located in Camp-20, implemented with funding from FCDO, Foreign Commonwealth Development Office and in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), was visited by Ms.Dyane Epstein, Deputy Regional Director for Operations for Asia and the Pacific Region & Ms.Catherine Northing, Chief of Mission, IOM Bangladesh along with IOM’s Social Cohesion Manager Ms. Sarah Muhammad and Mr. Adnan of IOM. During the visit, they observed the overall operations and production processes of the soap manufacturing center run by PHALS. They expressed their satisfaction with the quality of production, management, and overall activities, and highly appreciated the initiative. They also wished for its continued success and growth. They further assured their full support to make the project more sustainable and scalable in the future, aiming to create livelihood opportunities for both the Rohingya and host communities. They emphasized maintaining social cohesion, peaceful coexistence, and mutual cooperation between the two communities until the Rohingya are able to return to their homeland.
