On October 13, 2025 the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), PHALS actively participated in the celebration program organized by the District Relief and Rehabilitation Office (DRRO) in Cox’s Bazar. The event aimed to raise awareness about disaster preparedness and promote community safety. As part of the DRRO-led program, various activities were conducted, including a disaster simulation exercise to demonstrate emergency response strategies. In addition to its participation, PHALS independently organized a rally and discussion session at Sagormoni School in Chowfaldandi, engaging students, teachers, and residents in meaningful dialogue on disaster risk reduction. The events aligned with the 2025 international DRR theme "Fund Resilience, Not Disasters". emphasizing the importance of inclusive and equitable approaches to disaster management. PHALS’ dual involvement showcased its continued commitment to empowering communities and enhancing local capacity for disaster preparedness.
